  1. Howdy!

Well, I’ve been looking for a barrel liner for a Mosin Nagant.

    4 groove
    Bore 0.300 in
    Groove 0.314 in
    1 turn in 9.5″
No one seems to make this and there are a lot of shot out but otherwise decent mosins out there

  2. Why is there no option for a 22LR barrel liner threaded at only the muzzle end? Will this be an option anytime in the near future?

  3. Do you find there is a particular model side by side that lends itself to use with your shotgun adapters? I wonder the best way to verify the pressure rating of certain models.

Also curious how most folks are aiming with these? Short of using them in a slug gun that has rifle sights (whic there are few single shots and no SxS or O/U option to my knowledge), how is everyone aiming with these rifle cartridges?

Any possibility we see shotgun adapters with threaded “muzzles” that extend past the average barrel length of shotguns? It would be handy for suppressor use.

    • Good afternoon, Shotguns with a SB1 or SB2 receiver do well and the Braztech made by Taurus that we test with works well with everything we have made. We do hope to be able to make adapters with threads on the muzzle at some point in the future. Thanks for your interest.

  4. I just wanted to say how pleased I am with the four adapters I’ve purchased. My most recent was an 11″ 12 gauge to 9mm. It works great. Incredibly accurate. It was a little over half the price the other place charges for an 8″ adapter! I also appreciate you that guys include a link to the BBTI website in every description page. It was a huge help in weighing velocity vs portability.

I had already spent hours shaking my fists at the heavens, screaming, “Which one should I get?,” before spotting the link. So, maybe it could be a little more prominent? lol But, that information has been a huge help. I have a 24″ 45/70 adapter, an 18″ 357, with 22 and 9mm in 11″. My 30-30 will be 18 inches and any more pistol cartridge adapters will be 11″.

Thank you so much. You guys rock!

    • You might consider their 12 gauge to .44 Magnum insert. I have one in 18″ length and it shoots as well as any purpose-built rifle.

  5. Just tried out 2 inserts (18 in., 7.62×39) in my side-by-side 12 ga coach. Worked well and the recoil was not much different than my .357 insert.
I am having a little trouble with breaking open the gun after shooting and extracting the spent cases. Overall I’d call it a big win.
I would think that making inserts available in 300 BLK would be a natural progression.
Now I have to finish up my sights to make it a little more accurate.

  6. Greetings Chad;
I would like to know when you plan to build some more 45-70 and 327 mag inserts, just received the 410/45 colt and 44 mag and they look great also would you think there would be any interest in some of the other cowboy black powder calibers like 38-55, 40-65 and 50-90 Sharps and a mussel loader insert @ 45 or 50 cal. Plus I think a lineup of 10mm / 40 S&W / 41 mag would be well received by your clientele. ( I would order any of those if??)

    • Good Afternoon, We hope to be able to start working on the 45-70 in a couple of weeks. We have some buttons ordered for 10mm/40cal so hopefully we will be able do something with those later this year. Thank you for the suggestions we will look into them. Thank you again for your business and support.

  7. hey there. i have grown a good interest in your products and have just ordered your short shell 12-.45acp and 12-357 mag. now i know the short adapters will work just fine in my 12 ga but after visiting your web site now noticed you have longer adapters and was wondering if these longer 18 inch adapters would fit properly in a fully rifled 12 ga barrel? i would almost assume they wouldnt just bc of the nature of a rifled barrel and the lands protruding into further then what a smooth bore would be but figured i would ask. only reason i am running a rifled barrel is bc i got it cheap, it has a scope mount for it, but kicks horribly so finding your adapters allows me to put this shotgun back into service and will make it much more enjoyable to get out and shoot with as well as to experiment with as well.

As for the other calibers you mentioned I will look into them however at this time we are not making any adapters that have a chamber pressure over 45K. Or if you are looking for somewhere to buy them, I buy them for “theoringstore.com” However there main page is down as I checked it but should be up soon. You can try this link for now “https://www.theoringstore.com/store/index.php?main_page=about_us”. The size for that adapter is 015 for the chamber and 112 for the muzzle and the type I ship are Viton®/FKM O-Rings 75 Duro Black.

  12. Love your products – I just have the suggestion that you expand the rim diameter on future 45 colt adapters to accept 45 schofield as well. I started shooting schofield in my 45 revolver due to the ammo shortage, and while the cartridge will chamber (with some force) in my 18″ 45 adapter, extraction can only be made from the breech by means of a rod. I plan on widening my adapter if I can find an acceptable method, it’s only a hundredth of an inch total (.512 to .522).

    Reply
      • Can you make a 12gauge or 20 gauge to 7.63x38r? the nagant revolver cartridge. It’s one of the few calibers that are still readily available for cheap during this ammo panic. bullet diameter is the same as 7.62×39 so the barrels would work just fine, all that’s needed is to fit the proper chamber.

        Reply
          • Do you make your own Chamber reamers for these odd size onsies/twosies? I find no reamers available online for the 7.63x38r (7.62x38r).

In addition to these one-offs, one option is to have an unchambered barrel for DIY “airguns”. I had good success with the 44 magnum barrel for my airgun and have an unchambered .357 that I am hoping to make another deer hunting airgun sometime this winter. The unchambered barrel allows an additional 1″ or so of barrel length ++. Of course priority production goes to “homeland security” powder burner liners and inserts in a standard or these obsolete rounds. Airgun’s not going to work for that. 😉

Anyway, unchambered would also allow gunsmiths a little lattitude to cut down a full barrel to make two or chamber in whatever reamers they have on hand. Someone with a mini lathe can rent a reamer too.

          • We will look at the 7.63x38r the next time we make that caliber. We will also think about an unchambered version. Thank you for the input we appreciate your support.

  13. Your 44 Liner on Air:
    https://youtu.be/RiyWXELcfiQ

Can you please make some 45 in a slower twist (maybe 1:24?). Maybe they’d work for cheap gun powder pistol slugs too. However I believe 1:24 was used in some early rifles.

Thank you Chad! This one worked out after I cut it down. Can you also make unchambered barrels available for airgunners?

  14. Today, (August 15, 2020) I received the 20 Gauge to .357 Mag insert I ordered from you. I’m very pleased with it. It shoots well even with cheap ammo.
I’d like to ask about another possibility. Would you consider an 18″ insert to shoot .44 Mag in 20 Gauge? I have an NEF single in 20 Gauge I believe will handle such pressure without issues. My only concern is if the insert’s walls would be thick enough to hold the pressure. If so, I’d really like to get one in either 18 or 21 inch length.

  15. I originally bought the 11in 44mag and loved it enough to move up to a full length 45-70. I put 5 rounds of Win 300gr JHP before trying Hornady 325gr FTX, on my 4th shot I was greeted with barrel bulge around the 14 inch mark. Something went wrong and it took me a minute to fight the action open, everything looked normal but I’m not a gun smith.
The shotgun in question is a old Walmart bought 12ga Remington Spartan 100. I do not blame the insert but would give warning to anyone with this particular model and have only held onto it due to it being my first gun.

    • Thank you Mr. Clayton for sharing this info. Depending on the way the firing pin is designed in that shotgun it sounds like it could be that the primer deformed making it hard to open because of the added pressure of the hotter round. I have no idea of what could cause a bulge. Does the insert have a bulge at the 14″ mark? Thank you again for letting us know.
